The Weekly Recap (#2)

This week on the blog

Incoming

So despite the fact I just announced my book buying diet, I didn’t have a spend free week like last week. In fact, I got 4 books, which doesn’t sound very diet friendly does it?  There was at least a little bit of logic I can use in my defence…and I did buy these before I did the maths that really highlighted my book buying problem.

Unhinged was a reward for myself, after we spent a whole day tidying my room, so I feel no guilt at all! My book buying problem is bad, but my messiness is horrific!  We’re hoping to sort of condition me into being more tidy so my family and partner stay sane, so buying Unhinged was basically a good deed ;)

The Angel, Sanctus and Destined to Play were all £1 in Asda.  I’ve wanted The Angel for ages, and I was curiously eying up the other two, so my partner said he’d buy one and I could buy the other.  At £1 each, I don’t feel TOO guilty…

Unhinged [Bought - £5.75]
Sanctus [Gift]
The Angel [Bought - £1]
Destined to Play [Bought - £1]

Total spend this week: £7.75

My Week

week-2

This week has been mad.  There’s just no other word for it! Matt went back to university yesterday (sniff), and so we’ve been busy trying to see everyone before he went.  The biggest highlights of my week:

  • Going to see Frozen (and then listening to the soundtrack all week)
  • Going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour on a date with Matt

Reading

Finished: Taste of Darkness (Maria V. Snyder)

Started: Pantomime (Laura Lam). I only have about 60 pages left so I’m hoping to get that finished tonight.

Up Next: Probably Unhinged (A.G. Howard)

  1. It’s crazily hard NOT buying books. I treated myself to a few things last week but I’m really not reading fast enough at the mo to justify it!

    • That’s why I’ve decided to try and buy less this year, because the amount I was buying last year just to sit on a shelf was crazy. I’d literally never have caught up again!

But a treat here and there is okay – I bought a few this week I shouldn’t have, but I’m just going to roll with it and hope next week is better!
